Larry brings more than 30 years of operational and executive experience to the Delfi Group from a career in Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness with both public and private sector high-technology employers. Prior to assuming ownership and leadership of the Delfi Group (2012) , his most recent experience was in the health sector, with 6 years in a senior Governance capacity and the last few years as a Hospital CEO. In his previous his HR Leadership roles, he excelled delivering exceptional service to clients and led large organizational change processes both in Canada and overseas.
He is an accomplished HR Practitioner, people leader, executive, professional counselor, communicator and facilitator. He has unique specialties in both strategic and operational planning and in matters related to employee and leader assessments, performance management, workplace investigations, dispute resolution, employment law, creative problem solving and governance .
Larry is a high-impact professional with a demonstrated track record of leadership and results in a wide variety of consulting, employment and community roles.
Over his working career spanning 30+ years, he has taught at the post-secondary level; owned and operated a rural group home farm for troubled adolescents; worked in training, counseling, consulting, organizational development and employee/labour relations and senior Human Resource leadership roles in large multi-union research and development organizations (AECL and Nortel) both in Canada and overseas, and served as the Chief Executive Officer of an Ontario Community Hospital.

Larry Schruder was engaged to project lead our recent CHEOnext Strategic Planning project. The process used was highly engaging across the organization and very effective. The resulting plan and its implementation actions have clearly moved us to the next level of business and health care excellence. Larry quickly moved to establish professional credibility with our various internal groups, but specifically the Board, the Executive team and our physicians. The Champlain Maternal Newborn Regional Program (CMNRP) was facing the need to review its long-standing mandate to better meet the needs of its partner organizations in the Champlain and South East LHINs. Larry expertly and efficiently took CMNRP through a strategic planning process which led our organization through an extensive environmental scan to identify our partners’ needs and the future trends in maternal-newborn care in Ontario to ensure CMNRP would be responsive in addressing them. This exercise allowed us to define key imperatives, goals and objectives for the next three years. Because of Larry’s expert guidance and wise insight, our organization’s renewed mandate has put us on a transformational pathway which will help ensure our sustainability.
